|Drifting through Life?||Selfishness of Contraception||How Real Men Beat Lust|
Hi, I’m Jack, AKA Prayerful Dad. I’m a 27 year guy who was born and raised in Jacksonville Florida. I am a former workaholic, turned family man who loves God, his wife, and his children above all else.
I continue to work and support my family, but I have realigned my priorities so that I work to live, and no longer live to work.
My mission is to create a million Prayerful Dads across the world.
After graduating college, I joined a multinational Fortune 100 company into a leadership role, and immediately identified myself by it. My college girlfriend and I got married shortly after beginning my career, but she always took a back seat to it.
We traveled all over the country working in very grueling jobs.
Our days were consumed with work, and our evenings looked no different. A relaxing evening consisted of opening a bottle of wine and discussing our projects and coworkers to no end.
Fast forward a few years into the rat race. I decided that a change was needed. I joined a smaller, private company back in my hometown. We rejoined our church community, and quickly got involved in several ministries.
We welcomed our daughter Sue into the world, and I made it my mission to be the best father I could be for my family and the world around me.
To document this journey and keep ourselves accountable, we started TheWhitfordLife.com. I’m so glad you guys are here. Together, I know we can be the men God called us to be.
What you can expect
The Prayerful Dad section of this blog will be dedicated to dad’s looking for a place to grow in virtue. I claim to be no expert, but I am motivated to become one. Along with virtues, I will throw in my thoughts to other important topics to family leaders, like:
- How to provide for your family (Investments, Personal Finance)
- How to maintain balance (Work/Life, Fitness)
- How to pray
Again, welcome to the Prayerful Dad. Let’s do this.
Vices to Virtues Series – Systematically combat sin
- Selfishness of Contraception
- Lustful thoughts – and how to overcome them
- Prideful self-image – coming soon
